90s children's series what was it called?

There's a 90s children TV programme I can't recall the name of it was set in England about some kids which find a hole I believe into a parallel universe. There's a castle which is involved in it, and at some point the bad guys from the parallel universe get into our world and are outside the children's house. There was one which was a sniffer or called Sniffer and I remember there being a Unicorn also.
