Can I dye my highlighted hair?
Hello... I have dark brown hair and when I went in to get my hair highlighted I told the gal that I only wanted it slightly lighter than my natural hair color. Well, she used bleach, and now I have blonde, blonde highlights. I have had them for about 3 months and do not want to get them rehighlighted. I just want to go back to my regular hair color. Also, I want to do it myself, instead of going back to a salon. Please give me some advice as to what color I should buy, and if I should try to rehighlight my highlights, or just dye my whole head. Thanks!

Just dye your whole head.. unless you have a friend that is good at highlights. The boxes from the drug store are very hard to work with unless your good at it.. just buy a color that looks very close to your natural color.. than put it in your head.. the highlights will get darker.. and you won't have blonde.. just be prepared for them to be not the same color as your hair for awhile

When your hair was bleached, it took out all the pigments, including the red tones. So if you apply a brown hair over bleached blonde hair, it could result in a green cast. To prevent this from happening, you will need to use a red/auburn hair coloring product on the bleached portions of your hair first, then you can apply the desired color.

I had my brown hair highlighted with blonde highlights, I don't like the toner they put on it cause some of it looks yellow and grey can I either put a darker toner or dye on it or can I use a blonde hair dye to to change it and will it change my own brown base color?

I have naturally medium to dark brown hair and a few weeks ago I highlighted it. It left blondish white streaks in my hair. Then, I used a permanent dye and tried to dye it a golden blonde. It ended up red. I didn't mind that so much, but where I had put in the highlights before it was lighter...
