    Commercial Cleaning Company
My boyfriend and I are partners in a commercial cleaning company. We are license, bonded and insured in MD. So, far we started to past out flyers to medical offices and this weekend we are planning to do more. My question is how much should we bid on a gym that is 2800 sq.ft. in MD? Should the price vary depending on how big the facilities are for example:
If there were two gyms... one is 1000 sq.ft. and the other is 2800 sq.ft. should I charge the 1000 sq.ft- $0.12/sq.ft. and the 2800 sq.ft-$0.25/sq.ft?

Or should it be the same price across the board?

I think that you should be consistent in your pricing and charge the same per square foot, provided that it is the same kind of cleaning involved. Word does get around about what people charge. People do make comparisons.

I don't know about the prices for cleaning in Maryland. But, you might find something that would be helpful to you if you click on the following search.

One thing that I really do know about is how to advertise your services for free on the Internet. A lot of the free sites are listed on the following link. Most of my business comes from people who find what I do by doing searches on the Internet.

I am in agreement Clough. The only other thing I would add is; in smaller sized jobs you will still have the same initial start up/set up costs. I don't go after the smaller jobs any more, however when I did I charged more. When you consider the travel time, set up time, break down/put away equipment time, it adds up. This time and costs are spread more with larger jobs. So, I have a bottom figure charge for smaller jobs. Time is money.

Another example is, we make emergency calls when our clients have problems; sewer or water pipes break and flood, overflow of toilets, people throw up on carpets, etc. We have a flat minimum charge for this. I charge $175.00 per hour, minimum of two hours billed.
