Credit card statute of limitations: start or end of month?
Hi, sorry if this is a lame question but I am being sued for an old credit card debt. The last activity is listed as 9/2001 and now it is 9/2007. With the 6 year SOL in NY State am I still within it? Does it not expire until 10/2007? I don't have the original creditor's bills so can't verify the date of the last payment but I figure I am best off waiting as long as I can to answer the summons.
Also, the summons was handed to my husband and not me--does that give me 10 extra days? Thanks, Mrsin:confused: |
