    Statics-
    I am trying to figure out how you find the direction and magnitude of a resultant force? Any info on this, would be very helpful... Thank you

    Since you're using a cartesian co-ordinate system (there will always be useful 90 degree angles), you need to apply trigonometric laws and pythagoras' theorem.
