    Ceiling fan remote problems
I have a Hampton Bay Ceiling fan and I also bought a Hampton Bay remote to go with it. The light and fan work fine without the remote. The remote will only control the fan... why won't it control the light dimming action? Thanks!:(

I connected the white to white, blue to blue, and black to black from remote to fan. Then I connected the male and female connectors from remote to fan. Coming from the wires in the ceiling, I connected the white to white, green to ground, and black to black. I didn't use the red wire from the ceiling. There was just a ceiling plate in its place before... no fan. I will keep you in mind if I come across others.

Does the light come on at all? Did you connect it in the switch housing?

Off the subject a little here, but if it is only a ceiling box in the ceiling and you are connecting a ceiling fan there, you may want to inspect the attic area and see if the ceiling box is mounted and supported per fan manufactures specs.

A good idea, but definitely wouldn't cause the remote problem.

So the light is on all the time? Does the LED on the remote light up when you use the "light" button?

The Red Led Light Comes On But Does Not Effect The Light. The Light Stays On All The Time Unless I Turn Off The Wall Switch. I Tried Switching Battery From Duracell To Energizer And Still Have No Luck. Thanks.

It sounds like the receiver is bad. Return it to the store.
