    98 civic stalling
My daughter's 98 civic dx stalls when slowing down? Changed plugs and seems to idle OK?
    Any other things to check?

The fuel filter could be clogged. Here is a do-it-yourself trick, first find the fuel filter, but make sure the car is OFF, and the key is NOT in the ignition, just to be safe. After you find the fuel filter, take it out, all you may need is just a flat head screwdriver (if yuour lucky). After you get it out, I know it may sound gross, but here are the steps:
    1. find a small arrow printed on the fuel filter showing the direction of the flow
    2. Flip it if you have to to let any exess gas leak out (shake it a little if you want)
    3. Blow through the opening on the opposite side of the arrow (arrow pointing away from you)

If it is hard to blow through, it means its clogged, and you should get a new filter.
If it is easy to blow through, it means its fine, and not the filter, then you can check the smaller things like the air filter to begin with, sometime mice get in and turn the air filter into their new nest, which clogs that up and can give you the same problem. To check the air filter:

    1. Take the air filter out
    2. Hold it up to the light, with the rubbery part farthest from you, if you can easily see light come through, its fine, but if light can't be seen, or it is really dim, then you should get a new air filter.

    Hope this helps.
