Timorese: Apply for portuguese citizenship
I am a citizen of East Timor, currently studying in Ireland
I would like to apply for a portuguese citizenship.
Does anyone know what documents required?
For your information my mother has got her Portuguese Bilhete Identidade. Am I eligible for portuguese citizenship?
Does portugal allows dual citizenship?
Thank you for your assistance,

Hi Timorese,
You would firstly need to register your birth in the Central Registry in Portugal with an original Birth Certificate from Dili (born before 1975). Once your birth is registered, you can then apply for a Birth Certificate from Portugal (through internet). When you've received your birth certificate, you can then apply for a Portuguese ID card. This card usually takes up to 8 weeks from the date you lodged with the consulate. And finally, when you've received your ID card, you can then apply for the Portuguese Passport.
If you were born after 75, the fact that your mother is portuguese, you can still apply for a Portuguese Citizenship.
And yes, Portugal allows dual citizenship
Good luck
