I have been dating my childhood best friend for slightly over two months. He lives on another continent. We always talked everyday. About ten days ago we had an argument over my keeping in touch with my ex who until now, (five months later ) refuses to go away... I told my boyfriend that perhaps it would be better for us to break up so that I could sort out my past lrelationship life, which I noticed continued to stress him a little bit.. My boyfriend tried to save the relationship and asked that we keep talking and work through our differences which include him being moslem and wanting me to change to his religion in the future and I objected.

He says he misses me a lot, talking to me etc... but he has taken my word as, my wish for us to breakup. I also instigated the breakup because I was getting a lot of confusion in my head over whether I should get back with my ex or not.

I miss my boyfriend and would like us to get back together but he is now quiet and doesn't communicate much save for he told me, if I worked through my past trtoubles and wanted to date again, he wanted to be the first to know... I think my pride or ego is stopping me from getting us back together..

Right now I work few hours a week and study as well. The pay is not enough to sustain me and pay the bills. My ex is always coming around me and helping me clear these bills but we are not back into the relationship. I confessed to my boyfriend that my ex had come around and paid some of my domestic bills which flew him off the handle, we argued and I instigated the breakup... I feel like I am dependent on my ex financially right now, but I don't want to be in a relationhip with him again and yet this would continue to hurt my present relationship...

Then you need to decide which is more important to you. I would suggest you step away from both relatioships until you know what you want. You may find you don't want either.
