The day I was supposed to start my period I found brown discharge. I am 2 weeks late and still have the brown discharge. Sometimes it's light or dark brown, sometimes it's not. My husband and I are not trying to have children at the time and I have been off BC for about 8 months now. (Since I have been off them I have been 2 days late ever month, but not 2- 2 1/2 weeks) I took a pregnancy test received a negative. I have never been pregnant but I don't meet any of the symptoms that I have read about. I have also been working out and have lost 13 lbs in the past 4 months. I wasn't sure if that would have contributed to any of this. Diet change? Weight loss? I'm just confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I have had something similar happen to me in the past where instead of getting my period I had an inconsistent brown discharge for about 2 weeks. My next period came about a month after this. I wouldn't worry as, paradoxically, abnormalities can be normal. However, if you are really worried or if this continues for much longer, nothing beats a trip to the doctor!
