    Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 129
Good evening. I have purchased a new belt for my dryer but I don't know how the tension cogs fit around it. Could someone please give me some idea on how to position them around the belt & motor. Thank you.

To replace the belt you need to raise the top and remove the front,
I like to have dryer out in a space where I can work on it, and like
To tip the dryer back at about a 45 degree angle and support the back
On chair... The drum is held in place and you can get to the motor
Area easier... Mouse over this to get a idea what to expect...

    Now for a detailed explanation!

    1. There are (2) screws in the area where lint filter is -- remove

    2. The top can be raised by prying up at the front,
You do not remove top it stays attached

    3. With the top raised you start removing the front --
Try to find way to keep it held up

    4. There are two wires that go to door switch -- mark wires --
    And remove (eg. 1 & 2 )

    5. Now look for sheet metal screws that hold front on --
2 in each corner -- remove

    6. The front should lift out and be placed aside --
Tip dryer back to allow easier access

    7. There is a path where belt runs around the drum --
It is easier if it is held in place

    8. To install belt use duct tape to hold it in place --
    Removed after belt is installed

    9. This is probably the hard part running belt end
    Through tensioning spring

    10. And pulling it over the drive shaft --
    Tensioner really makes it difficult

    11. When you get the belt in place you
    Can remove tape on drum

    12. Put it back together and test
