    Confused about discharge
Can someone please help me!! For about a week now I've had some white discharge with a slight smell, hardly even noticeable. I'm not sure if it's the start of another bacterial infection since I've had two in the past two months, a yeast infection, or something more serious :( . I think I may be a month pregnant as well, and someone told me that there is a slight white discharge sometimes in early pregnancy and throughout. I KNOW I should go to the doctor, but I can't keep taking off work all the time for a BI, and if I do have any of these things can I be treated for them while being pregnant. I mean if it would happen to be something serious like gonorrhea or chlamydia!! What would I do?? Could I be treated without harming the baby, or would not treating it hurt the baby! I'm so confused and worried!! Please help if you can

You may have a yeast infection -- especially if you had taken antibiotics for your recent bacterial infections (antibiotics may you more prone to a yeast infection).

Any of the conditions you mentioned (chlamydia, gonorrhea, yeast infection) are easily treatable, whether you're pregnant or not, without harm to the fetus.

You also may be describing "leukorrhea" which is a normal whitish discharge that can increase during pregnancy.

If you feel that you are at least a month pregnant, you could use a home pregnancy test to find out. If it is NEGATIVE then you could consider an over-the-counter treatment for a yeast infection. If POSITIVE, go to your doctor.

Best advice in your situation would be to schedule an appointment with your provider. If you're pregnant you need prenatal care. If you're not, you may need treatment for an infection.

The above is for information purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. You should always contact your personal physician with any questions or concerns.
