I have a lot of questions on the subject of weed, I know that my teenagers do it,
And my husband used to and occasionally still does.
Some say that it is not a big deal, some say it is harmful.
I have talked to my kids about all the drugs and they say they are not stupid they would never do anything harmful, they openly admit to smoking on occasion.
I don't allow it in my home but I can't be with them every where they go.
My daughter is smart and has always gotten good grades and still does,
My son I home school because the schools have gotten so bad and most of the kids are getto and doing a lot worse than just weed. He seems OK to not as good in school work but then again he never was. I feel like a bad Mom because I know they do this and I don't or I should say gave up on lecturing, and have not taken them to some sort of rehab.
I said to myself that if I seen any signs of anything else I would take it to the next level.
My questions are is it harmful or not ?
Has it effected any ones life personally?
Is it a gateway drug or is it just called that because if you have used harder drugs chances are that at one time or another you smoked weed.
Any adults that do it and lead successful lives?
Is it really worse than it used to be or does it depend on the kind?

Weed is not bad is done occasionally, many teenagers outgrow it and could care less. I know when I used it a lot I just stopped getting high and that was that, did not seem like a cool thing to do anymore. HOWEVER, a lot of my friends never did outgrow it and you could say they have come to depend on the effects in their everyday lives, meaning that they wait all day to smoke it and it has become routine.

I think teenagers try it and some outgrow it or never really get into it, others will like it too much and never let go of it, that's the danger, best not to try. As for it being a gateway drug, I agree with that. Once you begin experimenting, from past experiences it is only a matter of time before a buddy comes up and say this will hit you harder and that is where it gets dangerous. I guess the mentality is what hey, I've tried weed why not something better.

Hope this helps, there really are so many variables to consider whether someone will get into trouble over it, the degree of maturity in the user and the responsibility, I hope your kids are both mature and responsible enough to know when they have had enough and when to avoid other drugs.

1) It's a serious drug. It should not be used by children. Most people can use this drug without being harmed - others cannot.

2) I'm sure it has.

4) Most adults that use it lead successful lives.

5) If you mean stronger, generally speaking, yes. Although some people still buy schwag... I don't know why.

This drug is not as pure as it used to be from what I know this is where the biggest problem comes form. It is fact that this drug can induce Psycological conditions I know 2 people that have had serious problems. You need to talk to someone who knows what there talking about try the docs?

I would listen to BMI on this as he seems to know people who have hooked onto other durgs after the high of weed does not satisfy them.
For me as a mother I would wish for my children not to have any type of drug tested or tried.
As I know that many kids experiment with friends and may not even remember years later,
But those who do it again and again,get hooked and destroy their lives along with their families worry me.I don't want to take the chance that my children may become one of the statistics in the later group that they "may" get hooked...
