    Trying to get pregnant still
    You may have seen another post about me & my boyfriend trying to become pregnant - we're both 17 but my boyfriend is 18 in about 2 months. We're still trying but I was wondering if this is a good sign;

    When I was 16 I had a really dark period so my doctor asked me to have a smear test done to make sure there was no STD's etc. Obviously I didn't have any because me & my boyfriend have only ever slept with each other. Whilst having it done I asked the doctor could she make sure I was fertile enough [we weren't trying then I've just always been worried about it].

    She said she wouldn't do any tests because I didn't really need any, from being so young. But she did say internally everything looked fine - Could this mean that I will probably conceive naturally and a good sign to be fertile.

    I know it's stupid but I've always wanted to have a family since I was little. I'm very bad for worrying my boyfriend often tells me not to worry so much but I'm one of them people who are too cautious.

    Also I'm sorry if it's a bit long. Thanks! :o

    It's okay to dream about wanting a family but you are too young to be starting one. Your not even old enough to legally have sex... It doesn't matter if you a have a million bucks and you're the most mature teen in the world... your NOT ready to bring a child into this world, physically, emotionally, financially... you need to think about this a little more. It's a bit selfish. There are so many women on this site that can tell you how lovely but HARD it is to raise a child and most of them are married and out of school.

    I live in England so I'm out of school. I leave college in May with a Level 3 ChildCare qualification. I know your entitled to your opinion and I respect that but it doesn't change how me and my boyfriend feel. If we do get pregnant and feel differently then we've made a mistake and we'll have to live with it. But thanks for replying.

    And in England it's legal to have sex when you turn 16. But we started having sex when I turned 15 and I went on the pill about 2 weeks later to avoid getting pregnant.

    If the doctor said everything looked good then you shouldn't have anything to worry about right now. There are other tests that would check your fertility as well as your boyfriend's. What the doctor probably meant by everything looks good internally is that your pap smear was normal and there is no sign of cancer cells, STDs, or anything else. She was not checking your fertility which is what would effect your ability to become pregnant.
    I know you want a family right now. But why not wait and get married to your boyfriend first before you start a family.

    You don't just decide to get pregnant and say, "oh no we've made a mistake." This shows your level of maturity hun... your not ready. I'm sorry I thought you lived in the US, laws are different here but your still 17, your brain isn't even done with cognitive development which means your decision making processes are not on the adult level. You really need to wait hun.
