    Per diem Claim !
    hey all--

I have started working as a contractor recently and I am in OPT now got my h1 approved starting October.

I work in seattle (outside my state) so I am eligible to claim per diem. The confusion is how much should I claim.

The perdiem claim limit for the county where I am working is max 200/day. Is it possible for me to

Claim the whole 200/day? Unknowingly I did it and my employer said he is okay with it just for the time

I am in my opt, that is next 2 months? But I heard from friends that claiming so much per diem will be a problem

IRS may audit and get me into problems. So how do I proceed from here? How much can I claim as per diem ? WIll there

Be any problems for me becoz of this one time I have claimed so much. Advice me on how much to claim and how to

    Handle this situation?
