    Blower motor
My blower motor for my furnace is not spinning. I opened up the cover and asked my wife to turn on the AC. When she turned it on,the motor just made a humming sound, but the cage did not spin. When I touched the motor it was pretty hot and there was a faint burning smell. Do I need to buy a new motor or is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks to every one in advance for your help.

It sure sounds like you're in for a new motor , be sure to replace the capacitor when replacing the motor, Good luck. Mike

THere is no air blowing when the heat is on. The furnace does come on but no air blows. If I turn the heat off and manually turn the fan on the air blows. If I leave the fan switch in the on position and turn the heat on the air stops.
