    Landlord's notice to terminate tenancy
When you are giving notice to terminate tenancy on a premises you are renting out, are you required to give a reason? We (meaning work) are selling a few of our properties and want to sell them without these tenants, so I have been preparing the notices, but wasn't sure if we had to state why. Are there any other requirements other than giving 30 days notice?

    Hello No:

Nope. Just short and sweet. I would do it by certified mail, return receipt requested.

As long as the lease is up no reason needs to be given. If the lease is not expired, then you need grounds.

I would, however, give them as much notice as possible. Its not always easy to find new lodgings.
