Have you tried accessing, say Google, with the ip address, which I believe may be 216.239.51.201? If so, does that work? If it does work, then it may be a DNS issue. If it doesn't work, try pinging Google or doing a traceroute. If you don't know how, drop me a message and I can help

It appears to be a DNS lookup issue. Do you use the same isp for both computers? Are you on a network?

By the way, if the environment is exactly the same on both computers, I'd suggest maybe uninstalling IE and reinstalling, or go to IE 6.x :)

    Hi
Downloaded and installed IE 6.0 1 and no change. ?
This problem has nothing to do with a software update.
It is a definite problem with your DNS settings. CHeck you DNS settings if they are correct (Usually you should have at least 2 DNS also). Also try checking with your ISP if they have any changes with their DNS.

It looks like the problem is with DNS settings onle. Since you are using dial-up connection. Best solution for you will be to configure PPP connection to get all details like IP address, Mask, Default gateway & DNS address automatically. You can do this setting by going in to properties of you PPP connection either from Network Places properties or Dial-up connections properties. :)

    Try this..
Go to "RUN" in the start menu, then type in the following commands:

    Regsvr32 urlmon.dll
    Regsvr32 jscript.dll
    Regsvr32 wshom.ocx

Each should prompt a confirmation box saying it has been successful.

Yep, and if that doesn't work,
Try looking at your HOSTS file for unwanted blockings.
