    Turn indicator problems
1999 Chevy Lumina; right turn signal when engaged will click very fast for about 10 seconds and then start working. Doesn't do it every time I use it , just intermittenly. Can any one offer an answer?
    Thanks, Prairie Son

With many cars if one of the turn signal bulbs is not working the indicator will click at about twice normal rate. Suggest you check the front and rear bulbs to see if they're OK.

. Check the Turn Signal/Hazard Relay, possibly located in the under-dash fuse/relay box. Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the turn signal/hazard relay from the under-dash fuse/relay box, and inspect the relay holder terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system. Spray contacts with WD-40.

. Check all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how to do it:

Turn Signal/Hazard Relays often have 3-P connectors going to them. Frequently, power enters the relay through two different fused circuits, depending upon whether power is entering through the ignition switch (turn signal component) or the hazard warning switch. Therefore, it's important to check all fuses. If the problem persists:

. Fix/replace the turn signal switch. Before replacing the switch, spray it with WD-40 and see if that solves the problem.
