    Petty theft
    It has been 6 years now since this happened is there anyway to erase it from my files or not have it show up during background check. I know the answer is prob. No but I thought I would ask. It was for a bag that was $500 bux and I had to serve 2 days in jail...

    Did you plead guilty or were you convicted in a trial?

    You may be able to have it expunged. My brother had some stuff removed from his record.

    I pledge guilty I had just turned 21 at the time. I was young and stupid. I served my time but I want to see if I can get this off my records.

    Instead of charging me with a felony it was dropped to a misdemeanor...

    Where do you live? You can apply for a pardon and explain you situations in most places.

    I live in va and it has been over 6 years now. I have had a clean record since then. I was young and dumb.

    Since you plead guilty to a misdeamenor, that's what's on your record. You can petition a court to expunge the record. Consult an attorney
