Initial installation of win xp crashed, reinstalled and now have 2 OS
My initial installation of win xp, service pack 2 crashed, and like a dummy I reinstalled from the OEM CD ROM. Windows detected 2 operating systems and asked me which one I wanted to use:

    1) c:\windows or,

    2) c:\wintemp.

It seems that the c:\wintemp boot is working, but I have a whole other directory (huge) with un-used c:\windows files. Can I delete the c:\windows directory without really messing my computer up? :(

Any help would be awesomely appreciated.

No! Don't touch the C:\Windows directory - that's the default good one.
I've never seen a Windows computer boot from wintemp. Are you sure about that?

You could clean up your boot.ini this way:
To access the utility, choose Start, Run, then type msconfig (and hit Ok). The first section you should head to is the "BOOT.INI" section.
Click on the "Check all boot paths" button
