    Troy Bilt Mower Model#14A4809P063
When I push the pedal down to go forward, the mower does not go. My father gave us this mower and we have no manual to go by. We know that the belt was replaced, but we do not know that it was replaced correctly. Can you help us?

Check online at mtd.com, can't guarantee you will get into the site, but you should get some help.

If dad is available I'd ask him about the replacement. If not check to see that the drive belt gets very tight when you deporess the pedal. The installer may have skipped the tensioner pulley or gone on the wrong side of it, maybe even the wrong belt.

Again, i can't rate ballengerb1s answer, but it is where i would start, it is very easy to put these belts on incorrectly around the two pulleys located about midway of the unit.

I just bought a used TroyBilt yesterday and downloaded the manual from troybilt.com. You need the serial number and model number from the mower. Most are manufactured by MTD. Riding mowers will have the label under the seat.

Be sure the tow valve rod is engaged. I believe on the mower it is on the rear right side. Should be a lever to pull up. Someone may have diengaged it to push it when they transported it to you. If it is not engaged, it will not move.
