    Mising pills
Hello, I haven't been sexually active for 2 months now and I'm currently on pills. The problem is I've been missing my pills, and just taking them when I remember to. Is there a problem wth that? I'm usually good at taking them except when I left for the philippines dats when it became crazy. Is that bad? Advice .thank you

Yes there is a problem with that. When you skip birth control pills they are not as effective, or not effective at all for the next month until your body gets used to you taking them again. You have to take them every day. Set an alarm for yourself to remind you each day to take your pill.

You need to use a second form of birth control such as condoms until a month after you start taking them regularly again.

Yes, a big problem. Look at the information that came with the pills you are on. (If you can't find it, Google the drug and look for this info) It will tell you what to do depending on which of the pills you missed.

Use extra protection, those pills will not be as effective since you've missed so many.

p.s. One thing that helps me remember every night is to keep them next to the toothpaste... I'm sure to brush my teeth at night, so I can't forget to take a pill sitting right there either! :)

Like everyone else has said, yes the is a major problem! Remember that even if you are taking the pill perfectly there is STILL a chance of pregnancy if engaging in sex. Since you have been forgeting to take pills, this decreases the efficiency of the pill a significant amount which increases you chances of becoming pregnant. You need to come up with a way to remember to take these properly. If you just can't get in the hand of taking the pills correctly consider consider using another method, such as the IUD or the birth control shot (Depo-Provera), both of which are very effective.

Oh I misread your post. I thought you said you "have been." You still need to come up with a way to take them properly anyway because it can mess with your cycle a bit if you don't(mid-cycle bleeding, delayed period... ) Plus it wouldn't hurt to do so just in case you do become sexually active again. You should get your period in time it just depends on how many pills you missed and when you took them but if you haven't been sexually active then you are not pregnant. Just finish out your pack and see what happens. Good luck.

Not about being pregnant... you should start taking your pills correctly though to keep your cycle regulated.
