If you want to play the piano or to sing, then it would really help to take voice and/or piano lessons from someone. If this is not affordable, maybe there is a relative or friend who would be willing to help to teach you how to play or sing.

If there is no piano at home, then maybe you could practice at a church. I did this for about five years when I was a teenager. Or, maybe there is a neighbor or grandparent who has a piano on which you could practice.

You could volunteer to sing or play for parts of the services at churches. If interested in doing that, then I would suggest speaking with the music person at a church where you might sing or play.

If you play the piano, then I would like to think that you are taking lessons from someone. Oftentimes, teachers will provide opportunities for students to participate in recitals with other students. That helps to get you noticed since there might be a lot of people at a recital.

If you are not taking voice lessons, then I would suggest taking them from someone. I would also hope that recital opportunities would also be available that way.

If not involved in the activities in the Music Department at school, then I would suggest getting involved in them. Please speak with the music teacher or teachers. Many schools put on musicals where you could possibly have a singing part. Also, some schools put on talent shows where you could sing and/or play. See about getting involved in band or chorus at your school, if those programs are available there.
