Failed Suicide
Hello everybody. Im new here. Basically this is the backgrd to my question. About 3 months ago I was in a really bad car crash. I was basically lucky to be alive pretty much. But the thing is that at first I didn't recall how it happened, but I began to realize that it was not an accident. I tried to kill myself by going 80 mph off a highway overpass 3 stories tall. My parents sort of know. And my friends think it. My question is... is it okay if I just never talk about it? I mean why I tried to commit suicide. I think my friends won't see me the same way anymore if I explained it to me. It doesn't really make sense to me either.. sometimes. I was in a bad state of mind. Really angry and hopeless and basically wanted to end it. Now I feel OK. Im happy to be alive but I hope I can continue a life where basically people don't see me differently because of failed suicide.

If it is still on your mind I think you should talk about it with a person you are comfortable with or try and get in a support group. If they are really your friends they will understand and be supportive. Your parents will want to make sure you are okay as well. Your parents will always love you no matter what.

As long as you no longer want to kill yourself then its okay I supose. But maybe seeing a professional to discuss it would be a good idea.:)

You should feel so thankful to be alive. That's a pretty serious car accident someone or something was definitely looking out for you that night, hopefully it made you realize how precious and amazing life is.
However, you may want to talk to a counselor or a therapist about why you would do something like that. Suicide is a pretty murky thing and sometimes it helps to work through it with a trained professional.
I'm glad your all right and I wish you luck getting back on a healthy track.

I feel it would be wise to discuss the issue with someone like a therapist.
If you had these feelings before, then it's quite possible that you'll have them again.
You truly tried to kill yourself whereas some people just do minor things trying to get attention.
You are lucky to be alive and I strongly feel that your issues need to be talked about so that there are no future incidences.
Next time you may not be so lucky...
I'm glad you're all right physically, but I feel you need to speak to a professional about what's going on inside that head of yours.
Best wishes.

I just read about this poor 85 year old lady who has lost control over her own life. What an undignified way to go! I wouldn't want to end it that way - and I'm not going to. I'll decide when it's over.

Historical Teen Girls Movie- Suicide or Suicide Attempt?
[ 1 Answers ]
I remember watching a movie as a teen- about 10-15 years ago on Showtime or HBO. I think it took place around WWII, with a teenage girl that befriends a new girl at their school, which I think was an all-girls school. The girls meet with other girls (friends) from the school in the woods behind the...
