Pain on Right Side of body
I have had this pain that goes down my right side and sometimes into my upper and lower back. It hurts to lay on that side and sometimes keeps me up all night. Does anyone know what this might be?

The only time I had pain like that was when I had a gall bladder attack. Mine would last for a couple of hours and maybe not happen for another couple of days. My pain was in the front right side and would be in my back all the way up to my shoulder. Do you have indigestion as well?

Yes, I have indigeston also. Kind of like gas on my stomach. But, let me tell you how this all started. Early this past March I had not been feeling well after taking medicine for a sinus infection. I stopped taking the medicine because I was feeling bad. Then a few weeks later I got dirrahea really bad and was sick of my stomach. My doctor diagnosed it as c-diff. Long story short I was on strong mediciation for that for a couple of months and then found out that I probably didn't have c-diff. Had a scope done on my colon and the doctor said everything was fine just my colon was red probably from the dirrahea. Well, then my regular doctor sent me back to the GI because he thought I had ulcerative colitis. Well, the GI doctor said okay and gave me medicine for that. But, the GI doctor was not sure if it was the colitis because after he did the scope on my colon the bio's came back negative. Well, all this time I keep telling them I have this pain down my side and feel sick and tired. Well, the GI says that could be your gallbladder. Now I have to go in for another scope so he can take another bio! What do you think?

An ultra sound will show the stones if you have the. Btw I would be pi$$ed off. Make them give you the ultra sound. Why would they do a biospy of a gall bladder? Before it was determined to be diseased. Mine was diagnosed in the ER and I had a follow up ultra sound. My gall bladder out within 2 weeks. Btw I had already diagnosed myself as most of my family has had theirs removed. Also I continued to get ill for about 2 months afetr I had it taken out but that cleared up and it was surely not as severe as when I had the gall bladder. I work with a man that did the same as I did and we are both fine now. Good Luck and insist on the ultra sound. Also before anyone touches me with a knife or laser I do a check on them through the court records to make sure they do not have medical malpractice suits against them.

Wow, how do you go through the court to find this out. Where would I start with that?

Yes, I am very sad that I was diagnosed wrong and taking medicine that was extremely strong and even made me sicker.

What it come down to is that Doctors are getting lazier, and it is up to us to figure out what is wrong and let them know! I get so upset.

A degree does not make a good doctor. There are good ones out there. I just go to the local court website and do a comprehensive check put their name in and it tells me what kind of suit they have. The site used to let you know exact details but they have locked those. But you can determine a lot from the subpeona's they send. Or if it says wrongful death. My niece had a doc bungle up a gall bladder operation and sever her bile duct and sneak back in and sew it back together, and she went through a couple years of surgerys to fix his mistake. So now I am weary. Also just because a case says closed. Does not mean he did not make a mistake or the charges were dismissed It could be that they settled out of court much like they did with my niece after 5 years of fighting. Settling does not mean that the jerk was not guilty. If we had seen his record before he operated on her he would never had touched her!

Don't get me wrong people make mistakes even doctors, it was the fact that the jerk went back in and lied about gallstones being in her duct and sewed it back together and sending her home to let her bile destroy her liver.

Oh my gosh! So does she need a liver transplant? Do you think this happens a lot?

Wow, now I am really scared!

Oh, don't be scared I can name a lot more people that have had the surgeries and came out fine than the ones that had problems. This man was just a quack. I just want for people to be aware and do some checking for their own sake. No she did not have a transplant, but she had to wear a bag for a long time and had many surgeries from some very wonderful liver experts. That was 10 years ago, but being alert and persistent is one of the things that saved her life. He tried to say that she was making up the symptoms and was not really in pain. She went to a different doctor and he found out what this doctor had done. + she was yellow , you can't fake that.

So, is she doing okay now? Does she still have the bag?

Also, doo you think I might have gladbladder instead of ulcerative colitis?

I had colitis and mine did not sound anything like your symptoms. Mine was from stress. I would make them check me for gall stones before they did anything else. She has no bag now, it was just to drain the bile from her liver. They say there is always a chance of liver problems in he rfuture. She just has a yearly check up. So far so good. She even has a child. She was only 21 when this happened.
