    Rental Law
    Hii,
I am staying at a particular apartment complex in Newark Delware. I leased out an aprt for 1 year and have been staying for 5 months. When I signed up for the lease I was shown a sample apartment and not the apt that I was going to get. When I got the aprtment it was dirty and the loos wwere stained and brown. The apt people said they will not change it and I couldn't do anything about it. Currently my apt is infested with some kind of insects which I feel keep multiplying, they were on the ceiling and now have started spreading to other areas. This is a serios health hazard. Is there an authority or a body that can help me and make my landowner to the necessary

Have you asked for the pest control service?
Also, did you make sure to write everything down on a move-in inspection form? That will protect you when you move out.
You can always contact the housing authority in your area and see what they have to say.

Does your lease state whether you are responsible for the infestation? If it is you, get an exterminator. If it is the landlord, you need to send a complaint in writing to the property manager and send a copy to the health department. Give them 21 days to correct the problem. Then send your rent in care of the local circuit court until they get the problem remedied.
