    Pro-rated paycheck
I only received 9% of my paycheck, I worked from Feb-May and was being paid stipend agreed upon before the season. I started working at the scheduled time, but at the end of the season they pro-rated my check because my fingerprints didn't clear for weeks. I was told since they didn't clear they wouldn't pay me for the work I'd already done. Its not the first time the district has done this to someone. How do I get my money?

Take it up with your state labor board. They can't withhold pay for work you did, because it took them time to verify your fingerprints.

    Hello live:

The state labor board can help, but they don't have teeth. I would go directly to small claims court. A judgment has teeth.

You may need to file a claim in small-claims court. If they didn't want to pay you before your fingerprints cleared then they shouldn't have had you working until they cleared. COntact the clerk of the small claims court for your county of residence. They'll help you proceed. Hopefully you have documentation of the hours you worked and weren't paid for.

Divorce, is it over rated? [ 6 Answers ]

Okay so you are probably wondering why I am even asking this, but truly what are the real reasons people divorce? I can see substantial resasons such as a mate, verbally, sexually, mentally, physically abusing you. Or even constant drug, or alcohol usage and someone who isn't willing to change? ...

 Hi there. I just recently broke my rental lease agreement with my landlord in California by giving her a 60 day notice to vacate. She said she would do her best to get someone else into it and I offered to let her show the house early in order to help find a new renter. I paid the full...
