Creaking upstairs
We live in an old fix-it yourself duplex and have done everything to the interior to make it beautiful again, but our neighbors downstairs has a 4 month old baby, and the floors in our living room apparently creak because she's come up complaining that it sounds like a "herd of horses" when the kids, or us walk through or around in it. We can't replace the floorboards from the ground up because of financial restrictions, but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to lessen or eliminate the creaking so that it doesn't wake the baby up.

I Think The Question Is How To Fasten Right? Right Ok, Do You Have Carpet?
If So,they Make A Snap Off Screw That Will Run Through The Carpet Into The Sub Floor And Into The Joist, Then It Will Snap Off Below The Carpet Where You Can't Feel It, You Can By This At Lowe's Or Homedepot For Under $15, Now If It Is A Wood Floor You'll Have To Go Under Your House, Have Someone On Top Finding The Squeaks Once You Locate Them Under The House You Need Some Shims And Some Liquid Nails Floor Adhesive, You May Notice A Gap Between The Joist And The Underlayment, If So Slide A Shim And Apply Some Liquid Nails To Both Sides Of The Shim
The Only Other Method I Know Of Would Be From The Top Of The Floor, Using Finish Nails If It Is A Finished Floor, Id Use 10s Or 16 Penny Finish Nails Make Sure You Find The Joist , If Not It Want Work

Creaking waste pipes
[ 1 Answers ]
I just replumbed the master bathroom, including re-routing a bit of the waste/drain lines. After the hot water is used, the pipes make an easily audible creaking, popping sound for about 15 seconds.
Obviously, I think this is due to expansion / contraction with heat, but is it something to...
