    Hello Isa:

    No, because when you go to court to enforce it, the other party might forget the terms... If it was written, he would have hard time doing that.

    A verbal agreement ( for most things) is binding,

    It is not as good as a written one, because it is hard to prove.

    Very rarely is a verbal agreement as good as a written one. With a written one you basically "have everyone by the short hairs", if you get my drift. With a verbal one, however, you're at the mercy of the judge's whim as to whether (s)he considers it enforceable.
