    Changing a thermostat
    I want to change a termostate with 6 wires but the new one have 5 wires

    First of all you must determine what type of system you have? Gas furnace or heat pump, what wires went where on the old stat and what are the new connections ?

    Open your Air Handler, may see unused wire(s), from thermostat.
