Ok here's my story. My last normal period was on April 23rd. My next period was two weeks late and started on June 7th but was only three days long and lighter than usual. I expected my next period to be around July 7th. It is now July 14th and no period. Ive taken numerous pregnancy tests and all came back negative although the last one I took was probably 3 weeks ago or so. Ive had so many very strong pregnancy symptoms in the month of May but they have since then went away and only come around once in a while. Am I crazy to think that I may be pregnant and my body is just not creating enough HCG to show up in a home pregnancy test? I know most of you are going to tell me to go to the doctor and get blood tests done but I don't have insurance so I can't really afford a doctors visit. Im so confused on what to do I'm hoping that someone can help! Has anyone ever been pregnant and had negative hpts until they were so far along, because if I am pregnant then I would be 11 weeks. I know sounds crazy.

The only HPT that told me I was pregnant was First Response. Everything else, including EPT, said negative, and I really was pregnant. Since you haven't taken an HPT in three weeks, I would recommend you take another one ASAP. Since you are two weeks late, it should definitely show up now :)

I agree with nauticalstar. Go buy another test and see what the results are. If that is also negative your only option might be to go to the doctor for two very good reasons. First, because you might be pregnant and need to have the first prenatal visit. Second, if you aren't pregnant then what is going on with your body and why are you not having a period. You could always go to the local health clinic. Most of them are completely free or they charge way less then a doctor's office would. Option three would be to wait and see if you have your period next month... that is if this pregnancy test is also negative.

One last reminder...

Remember to take the HPT using first morning urine. It is much more accurate.

Like everyone else said, take another test tomorrow morning, if it comes out negative go to a local teen clinic, Planned Parenthood is good. They offer blood tests about $20 I think, if not even free if you have a financial issue. When I found out I was pregnant, I thought I was further along because back in March I had a weird period, it came five days early, was light and just weird. Took a test and it was negative. Then I skipped April took a test and it was positive so I assumed I was pregnant in March. Went to the doctor and found out I was not pregnant in March, March was just a weird period time. So who knows, maybe you just had a weird previous period and then got pregnant later like I did assuming I was pregnant from March. Well goodluck hope everything works out.

Thanks everyone for the answers I really really appreciate it! I was thinking about taking another test but for the past two or three days I've been feeling like I'm going to start my period so I think I might wait and see what happens. But then again my last period was two weeks like and lighter than my normal periods are. If I start bleeding do you think I should still take a test or should I just assume I'm not pregnant? Oh and one more thing, lately my stomach muscles have been feeling different. Before all this I was able to walk around all day with my stomach sucked in to hide the little chub on my belly but lately it feels like I cant. My stomach gets really tired and it feels better to just let it go! I was just wondering if this might have anything to do with pregnancy or am I just crazy?

No you are not crazy. You are being smart. Never Assume you are not pregnant until you know for sure you not pregnant. You could really risk birth defects by doing things like drinking. You are not crazy for wanting to find out if you are pregnant. Knowing is best for your baby.

I got my pregnancy tests from the dollar store. I don't like paying tons for something that tests the same thing... a certain chemical in your urine. They have always worked for me. In Sept. it came up negative when I wasn't pregnant and in February it came up positive when I was pregnant (I took it when I was only a day late for my period). I then took like 3 more because I wanted to make sure that it wasn't giving me a positive because it was cheap. Anyway, there should definitely be enough HCG in your urine if you think you could be 11 weeks. You'd almost be out of the first trimester and your HCG levels double every day!

I started bleeding today but its very light and kind of a different color. Ive been having cramps for the past few days so I knew it was coming but Ive read on another forum that you can tell the difference between your period and bleeding while pregnant and that's by the smell. Everyone knows the distinct smell of a period and this doesn't have it. Well not so far at least maybe because I'm not bleeding that much. I don't know I'm so confused. I figured that since I started bleeding that I'm not pregnant but other people tell me that they also were bleeding while pregnant. I guess ill buy a test tomorrow and see what's going on. Thanks for all the answers and ill appreciate anymore input that you guys have. Ill give you guys updates!

Def. Buy a test soon especially if it stays light and only lasts a day or two. But if it starts being your normal period then your probably not pregnant.

Well the bleeding lasted about 3 days and stayed really light. I haven't been able to get a hpt yet because I don't get paid till Thursday but the thing is I don't feel like I'm pregnant anymore. Anyway I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for responding! I really appreciate it!
