    Ulcerative Colitis
My son was diagnosed at age 18 with Ulcerative Colitis. He is now 28 and was also diagnosed about 5 months ago with SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder). We now reside in Central Florida. It's been difficult in the past for him to hold down a job for a prolonged period. He just now obtained insurance benefits from the Company he now holds a job with and has obtained an insurance plan , the only one he could possibly afford, through the Company. We made an appointment with the Gastroenterologist for him to get a colonoscopy( after 10 years of not having one) and found out that his insurance from work, does not cover a colonoscopy. It's going to cost near $2.000.00 for all that's included in this procedure. My son has no where near this kind of money and neither do we. Iv'e been trying to find out what to do in this case. I have come to dead ends, every where I try to get answers. Can you possibly suggest where I might be able to turn to, to get some answers? He has been having discomfort in his stomach and has me concerned and I know he has to get this procedure done ASAP.

    A concerned parent!

You can always see if the place that he is going to have it done at is willing to take monthly payments and if they offer some kind of fund for people who need help paying there bills. I know we do in VA.
