    Period Overflow
First off, I'm 19, am not on the pill and come from a family of women with irregular periods (ranging between 2.5 and 5 week cycles instead of 3-4)... this morning I woke up and got my period for the first time in nearly 5 weeks while I was in the bath room, all of a sudden I felt this dripping sensation and I look down and there is blood all over the floor- there is now blood dripping straight out of my body like a faucet and streaming down both legs at an alarming rate. I'm not usually over dramatic about this kind of thing, but this was a very frightening amount of blood even compared to my normally irregular period. I went online to see how much one should lose and a site said usually is was a few tablespoons during the whole period-- it's now been about an hour and a half since this happened and I've had to change one super tampon- I think altogether in the bathroom I lost substantially more than a few tablespoons- I have no health insurance and really really can't afford the emergency room in new york- am I OK? What should I do?

Don't Worry Yourself.. Its Not Like You Are Going To Die.. You Are Exactly Like Me! I Have Very Strange Periods Also! If You Just Take It Carefully, And Try Not To Wear White Clothing! You Should Check And Maybe Change Tampon Every Hour Or So.. Just Keep Checking! It Will Soon Be Over In A Couple Of Days! Good luck x x

If this is not normal for you, it is important that you get to the doctor or hospital. It is common for a doctor to tell a patient that if she soaks a pad an hour that she needs to be seen.
