    Hi Jeans77,

Just had this Same problem happen to me today. All of a sudden, my computer (AMD processor running Windows XP media center) doesn't recognize my Linksys wireless USB adapter (same model number as yours). The error message is:

    "USB device not recognized"

All of the drivers (from the installation CD) are there. Re-installing them doesn't help. Other USB devices (like my printer) work fine on all USB ports, but this wireless adapter is not recognized on ANY port.

Could a virus do this? I really don't know what to do next... if you---or anyone else----has some advice, I'm all ears.

    Thanks!
    -John

(P.S. Linksys customer support tried, but could not help!)

Its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's thread, so I've moved your question to its own thread.

If your USB ports work with other devices and the adapter doesn't work with any port, then its likely something burned out. You might try taking it to another PC to test, but I suspect you will need to replace it.
