We are replacing an existing tub with a shower
And the building architect asked us for a written methodology
For the new trap installation.
We can not access the apartment below or cut into the concrete
Slab. Can we raise the shower bed? And can someone
Help to descripe what the plumber would have to do in order
To make this work?

Well, I have to assume the existing 1-1/2" trap and trap arm is either encased in concrete or suspended in the ceiling of the lower unit. So cutting into the existing slab or accessing the ceiling of the lower unit is a foregone conclusion.

What's with the "cannot" bit?

Purchasing a Condo or renting an Apartment comes with the unspoken agreement that access to the unit will be required from time to time.

Call your local authority to determine exactly which local code grants you or your contractor legal access to the space below yours -- There will be a clause specifying just how much advance notice must be given, and then serve the lower tenant with that notice.

You will, of course, be responsible for protecting the neighbors personal effects and restoring any demo'ed out areas of the ceiling -- But access, if notice is given in a timely manner, is your legal right.

I ran into this situation a few years ago when renovating a condo above one of Seattle's plethora of dot-com millionaires -- Being served with an order by a King County Deputy didn't do much for his ego or his relationship with my client, but it did gain us access to complete the remodel.
