    Recovering data
I have a computer that had booting issues. When it would start up it would show the Window (XP) load screen for about a second then the BlueScreen of death would appear for a split second and then it would reboot.

I reinstalled windows(xp) on another partition but now windows shows that the partition that had all my files on it is empty. What is the best utility to try to recover that information, where would I get it and is there any that would be free or open source (I am on a budget.. )
