1991 honda accord has low idle
When engine is cool it has a problem starting up and when you get it started sometimes the rpms will jump down and cut itself off, the check engine is on, and when you turn on the air conditioner the rpms will drop down to 200 - 300 rpms already had to adjust the regular idle because of the low rpms what could be the cause of this a censor or something else? Thanks any information ! I have aa 1991 honda accord ex 4 cylinder 2.2 liter engine 5 speed manual.

    . Check for codes--this is a must.
. Check Ignition Control Module and coil. AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto can do this for free. However, I recommend replacing them every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. These are problematic components. Here's how to do the work yourself:

I took my car to autozone and they could not check it because it has to be a 1997 or newer for them to hook it up to a machine and how much is an ignition control module and coil?

I have a 1996 Honda Accord. I recently had a problem with an extreme erratic idle. It seems to only do this when the engine is cold. Once the vehicle warms up, It returns to a normal idle. I recently replaced the spark plugs, oil, anti-freeze, and air filter, which had no effect on the...

1998 Honda Accord EX Sedan won't stay idle [ 4 Answers ]

Hey Everyone: My '98 Accord (EX 4dr) won't stay on. It will turn over, start, but stay idle for a few minutes at about 400-500 rpms when cold. Once it warms up, it will no longer stay idle at all and shuts off unless I keep it on by revving the engine. The engine does a lot of shaking during...

1998 V6 Honda Accord - Idle Oscillates [ 1 Answers ]

My daughter's 1998 V6 Honda Accord has a problem where the idle oscillates about every 3 seconds between 800 and 1300 rpm when it is warmed up. No idea what is going on. Someone told me that it could be the fuel filter (which to my knowledge has never been changed) but I can't figure out where the...

1991 Honda Accord [ 1 Answers ]

My 1991 Honda Accord EXR seems to have a problem with the torque converter not locking up. You can tell because at 100k the RPM is at about 3000rpm and once the car gets warmed up (about 1/2 hour of driving) the RPM drops to about 2600rpm and you can tell the converter is locked in. Any ideas of...
