Defrost setting in a Magic Chef Refrigerator
Hi, I was wondering how to change or turn off the defrost mode on a Magic Chef Refrigerator, because every month I have to throw away a lot of food, due to the defrost mode thawing everything out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:D

There is a defrost timer, heater, and defrost bimetal thermostat for the heater. Take your pick. One or two could be bad. The reason you are having a problem is because the freezer compartment is frozen solid and the fan cannot blow the air around inside. When you unplug and defrost the problem goes away temporary until it ices up again. You might need to call a person that can fix it for you.

Thanks hvac, I'll look into that, I just realized that we usually have the freezer pretty stuffed, would that have anything to do with it? Now that I think about it, it sounds like a stuiped question. :p

You can load the freezer pretty much. Just do not block the air flow completely off.

Hmmm looking back at it, there is a gap on top where the fan is, I'll try your other suggestions, Thanks a lot!
