    Refrigerator water hook-up
Our plumber told us he hooked up our refrigerator water line to the hot water not the cold water line because it makes the ice less cloudy and this is how he does 95% of his hook-ups. Doesn't sound right to me - doesn't this cost more energy? Is this really a good idea?

I've never done this but it does make sense. Also hot water freezes more quick than cold water. Something to think about. No more water than an ice maker uses, you won't notice any increase in electric bill.I just wonder about the heat in freezer. Will it cause a problem with frozen foods? Maybe someone that hooks up to hot water will post here.

Hook up to the hot water to reduce cloudy (air) ice. It cost very liilte with the HW hookup... if the cold water pipe is in the attic, its water temp could be as hot as the hot water for afew min
