Top row of teeth not aligned
Background: I had braces for many years when I was young, am 25 now. Of course I was like every kid who never wore his retainer after the removal of braces. Now I am obviously suffering the consequences of making that juvenile mistake.

My to row of teeth has shifted to the right side and has also taken on a slight angle. Plain compliant, my two front teeth are not aligned with the center of my face. Along with some crowding issues with my bottom teeth, I have made an orthodontist appt for a few weeks from now.

Braces in one form or another will obviously in time correct my bottom teeth but can it also shift my entire top row of teeth? If so, what time frame am I looking at here? Thanks much.

The time it will take for your teeth to be aligned and for your median line to be straight. Your orthodentist will determine that, but it shouldn't be that long. A couple of months, maybe?

Though it's important that you wear the retainer afterwards!

Thanks Kristynn. I have an appt with an ortho here in a few weeks for a consultation exam. I would much prefer your 'few months' timeline but I'll have guarded optimism for sure :) Thanks!

Actually, you should not worry that much about the time frame. The more quick your teeth will move, the more it will be painful.
Less pain, more time... isn't it better?
Your orthodontist will find the best solution for you. :)
    Good luck!

Understood. One of the upsetting parts is I had braces when I was younger. At 25 having anytime of braces/retainers is going to be much more of a pain I think if it takes longer. Anyrate, thanks again.
