    Ater and weight loss
I'm trying to loose weight, I am currently on the weight watchers diet, and so far have lost 10 and a half lbs.

I have been told water helps you lose weight, but I don't understand why this is? Can anyone help me there? I find it hard to drink water, as I just do not like the taste, therefore I dilute it with no added sugar blackcurrant juice. Will this affect the whole idea of drinking water? I drink around 6/8 pints of juice a day? Is this enough?

Firstly "Iced Cold" water is what I believe your talking about in regard to water Helping you lose weight, You body has to work to heat up the ice cold water and that uses calories to do this. (Thermogenic effect) You can burn a lot of calories a day by drinking a gallon of "Iced" cold water. I was taught that you should drink 1/2 your weight in water (i.e. you weight 140 pounds divided by 2 = 70 oz of water or about 9 cups of water). In the beginning when I was trying to get off cola, I added 1 tbsp of sugar free cranberry juice and 2 tbsp of lemon juice kept it ice cold in the fridge, just try different things and keep it ice cold or use crushed ice cubes.

You are supposed to have 64 ounces of water per day. (liquid) Give or take some depending on how much you sweat, your muscle mass( muscle needs more water) and how much you pee in a day. Plain water is best. If you must add something to it to make you drink it well so be it... just choose naturally sweetened juice (no fructose). Fruits and veggies have a lot of water in them, so you can get some of your water from the. I do not think that water per say makes you lose weight. But your organs need it to make your body function properly and it can make you feel fuller. If your urine is very light yellow to clear then you should be OK with how much water you are consuming. You can drink too much water so be careful of that. Everyone's activity level is different and muscle mass . Water need varies from one person to the other. But the 64 oz including the water content of fresh fruits and vegetables is a good rule of thumb, this means you do not have to drink all of the water but consume some of it naturally in fresh veggies and fruits. Milk counts, try skimmed or 1 percent. Also any time you drink anything this counts for water.. I want to explain this properly... it counts but is not as healthy as water... try to stay away from caffiene and high sugar drinks. And make sure that most of the drinks that you consume are mostly water. I hope That I explained this well also you may want to try a website based on nutritional needs. If I have not explained it well enough.
