I have a BIG problem with yard moles. I would like to have any advise. I cannot afford all the "stuff" like stakes and traps. I was wondering if anyone has any "home remendies" to get rid of these. My neighbor also has them very mad.

2. Wait it will take some time for the grubs to die off once they do the moles will leave.

We've had mole issues in our yard as well.

1) I've found that if you have a dog, it will come in handy:
Grab a stick from the yard and carefully prod the mound to find the hole to the tunnel (make sure you don't collapse the hole/tunnel). Once you find it, burrow your stick in to clear the tunnel of any debris. Take a paper towel and grab some fresh dog poo, and then cram that into the tunnel as far as you can. The moles don't like the smell and tend to go somewhere else.

2) I've read that putting some human hair from your hair brush into the tunnel using a similar method to the above also works as they are deterred by the smell of humans.

3) A dilute mixture of castor oil and water or pee and water (either human or dog) spread along the yard may also cause them to want to look somewhere else to dig since they don't like these smells, either. If you have dogs, DON'T use the castor oil (I believe its toxic to them).

Here in the mountains of VA, moles can be a problem in lawns, too.
Some say, get an old dog, he will take care of them. He will, if you don't mind every mole tunnel in your yard being dug up by an old dog!
I have tried numerous ways to get rid of them.
Also, have an eight pronged mole trap, that one sets, pushes into the ground over a "main" travel tunnel, and it will kill them; if you can find the "main" travel tunnel.
After saying all that, there is one thing that works!
Windmills.
You can get aluminum foil windmills at a Dollar General Store, or Dollar Stores, or large department store for about $1.50 each, or less. Other types of "wooden" windmills are prettier, and last longer, but are more expensive.
Get some cheap windmills, stick them down in your yard, about 20 feet apart.
A slight breeze of air will "whirl" the windmills, causing vibrations in the ground that humans cannot even feel, but moles can.
Moles cannot stand vibrations in the ground. They will leave!!
You won't find moles around farms where tractors and plows are used frequently in specific areas. Or, in places where heavy equipment travel over the ground. They will leave for a better place without vibrations.

Only one true way to get rid of moles... with traps. Traps that skewer the moles are the best. I have had three instances of moles and each time I got the booger with my skewer traps. I tried the smoke-out and yard sprays with no success. Only by killing these critters can one reliably rid your yard of these pests.

Moles, we tried the dog route, now I just have a yard full of dug up holes and a dog that is covered in dirt that smells bad and she rolls on my couch.

My Grand father used to put moth balls in the ground he said it kept them away. Then he tried the wind mill plane thing. As they spin in the wind they had little clickers on them, sent a vibration into the ground, that was suppose to scare them away. The last thing he tried was mole traps. These traps go off when the mole tunnels under it. They worked pretty well.

I tried the grub killer from Agway feed and supply, I still have the moles and a torn up yard from my dog hunting them, it you figure it out let me know. My dog smells really bad from digging in the dirt but she seems to be doing the best job.

I also have moles in my back yard. My aunt told me to stick a water hose in one of the tunnels and after only 2 tries the mole came up half drowned and my husband killed it. Don't know if he was the only one so we put a windmill in the yard. If he was the only one he sure was doing a lot of digging. Tried again today with no results so maybe he was the only one. I sure hope so. Let me know if this works for any of you.
