    Thermostat wiring questions
    - White-Rogers type 1E50W-341 manual mercury thermostat with Fan auto/on switch.
    - 4 wiring terminals on thermostat (G - R - W - Y)
    - 3 wires coming from wall (red - green - black).
    - want to install new Noma programmable thermostat
    - disconnected old thermostat and (like an idiot) did not document where wires were connected
    - unsure where to connect wires on new thermostat because colors of wire out of wall do not correspond with wiring instructions in manual
    - cannot reinstall old thermostat because second guessing myself as to where the wires were connected
    - additional note - do not have A/C, just forced are heating from furnace and a circulating fan option.
    - Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

G is sometimes air handler fan
    R is from transformer
    W is sometimme heat
    Y is sometimes to compressor(cool)
I would try Red to Red, Green to Green and Black to white.
