If I just got a credit card.
My credit score is in the very poor range, for a while I was not able to get an unsecured card and that has been my aim... finally capitol one has re-accepted me.. I have three credit cards that I'm dealing with now.. both the capitol one and first premier bank were charged off... I would love to have that off my credit report, I'm hearing if I wrote both companies and tell them that I want to go back into the account and pay whatever was left before I charged off (no pun!) only if they move it from my report, I'm wondering if that is logical or even possible. Or should I just leave the charge offs be and only deal with the credit card I was just sent. The third card I'm dealing with the collection agency that I'm iffy about but I have asked about that in another post.. oh well, suggestions anyone?

You can go to them and ask them to remove it if you pay them 1/2. All they can say is no and perhaps make a counter offer. Never offer full amount until your last choice.
But normally it will still show up but show up as being settled. Which is still better than saying deadbeat who won't pay.
