    What is going on?
OK so I am on birth control and I missed one day a few days ago. My period should not start for about a week and a half. I am 17. Today I saw brown discharge with some blood on it. My period has never come early since I started my birth control even I did miss a day. What is up? I don't have period pains or any pains at all that I don't have everyday.

I think it's just your hormones adjusting to your body. But if you feel uncomfortable about it, you can always see your doctor my dear.

You may be experiencing breakthrough bleeding. It is not uncommon if you miss a pill. Some months you may have it, others not. Just remember to use a second protection since the pill will most likely not be as affective since you missed.

If you are concerned it is always best you get professional advice from your doctor rather than over the internet.

I have a similar thing going on. I have been on the pill for months now, with normal periods, then missed one pill, and have a period again (full on one!) 2 weeks early! It can happen. Don't worry, its not a sign of pregnancy, just that we should take the pill a bit more carefully!
