    Brand has nothing really to do with it. It is the quality of the installation that matters. You can buy the best and it will be junk if not properly installed. You can buy the cheapest and it will work and last 20 years because the work was done correctly. There are about 20 different brand names and about 10 real manufactures available in this country. Carrier/Bryant, Goodman/Amana, Nordyne, Heil, Armstrong, Trane,and York are all good.

    Get 2 to 3 estimates before you buy and make sure they do a manual " J" for correct sizing of the unit.
