How far can you hook a dishwasher from a sink?

That's actually a good question. The closer the better for the pump that has to drain it and ease of running supplies and drain lines. Ive never given how far much thought because all the ones Ive ever installed have been within 3-4 feet of the sink. I would think though that the manufacturers would have some recommendations.

As ac101 mentioned, check the manufacturer recomendatons. I have gone as far as 6+ ft.
