External Hard Drive not being read?
I've had it for about 9 months... and yesterday it decided to stop working... the external hard drive powers up but I can't hear the drive spinning... my laptop says that there is a Hard drive plugged in but when I go into my computer it doesn't show up
I have most of the files backed up on cds, but I still want the dam thing to work... any suggestions or ideas on how to fix this??

Shut down, the PC then the drive. Then disconnect the drive. Re boot the PC, power up the drive and reconnect it.

Ive tried all that. Powered everything off, even disconnected everything, and tried the hard drive on a different computer
