Anybody know about goats?
I am very concerned about my goat. After being pregnant at least two weeks longer than the normal gestation period, she finally delivered one live baby and one long-dead baby this morning. She'd gotten absolutely huge. Massive. I'm pretty sure she has an infection, but there are no vets out here that take care of goats. I'm concerned that she's sick; I'm concerned that she may still be carrying dead babies (I'm telling you, she was HUGE); I'm concerned that if she's septic, she's passing her infection on to her live baby through the milk. Ugh. She seems very attentive to the baby, and I think it's feeding (at least, it's trying to--I can't tell if it's actually getting anything). Do you think I should just see how things go, or should I just start bottle-feeding the baby right now? What is a goat's normal temperature? Oy. As if that weren't enough, read my next question, about my supposedly neutered dog.
